Schumer on Judge Griffith Approval by U.S. Senate

Today, the U.S. Senate approved another Bush judicial nominee, with support of Democrats. The following is a brief statement from Sen. Chuck Schumer:

"The approval of Judge Griffith proves that many Democrats will support judges who are mainstream conservatives, not far-out-of-the-mainstream judicial activists. While 20 Democrats have showed independence by voting to approve Judge Griffith today, Republicans are still marching in lockstep as a rubber stamp for all of President Bush's nominees - voting a staggering 3080-5 in favor of Bush's nominees to appellate courts through today's vote."
