Schumer: Buffalo Niagara International Airport To Receive $11 Million

Money will be used to rehabilitate runway and taxiway, improve runway safety are and extend taxiway

US Senator Charles E. Schumer today announced that the US Department of Transportation has awarded $11 million in a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grant to the Buffalo Niagara International Airport to rehabilitate their runway and taxiway, improve their runway safety area and extend their taxiway.

“Safe and dependable air service is a critical engine of Western New York's continued economic growth,” said Schumer. “This funding will allow the Buffalo Niagara International Airport to meet today's modern aviation demands.”

The Buffalo Niagara International Airport will use the grant to rehabilitate their runway and their taxiway, improve their runway safety area and also extend their taxiway. Schumer has been a long time proponent of getting better air service in upstate New York.
