Senator Statement on Yesterday’s Floods in Upstate New York

“This past summer’s flooding was devastating for the entire region, and yesterday’s rain further underscores the need for long term planning and solutions to mitigate future flooding. My office has been in touch with local emergency management coordinators, the County Executive’s office and the Governor’s office to reaffirm our availability to help at the federal level. I am committed to working with the Army Corps of Engineers, FEMA and other federal agencies to fix this problem.”

-- U.S. Senator Charles E. Schumer
