SENATORS SCHUMER AND GILLIBRAND ANNOUNCE $3.5 MILLION IN ECONOMIC RECOVERY ACT FUNDING COMING TO CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY/DUNKIRK AIRPORT
U.S. Senators Charles E. Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand today announced a $3.5 million U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) grant under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 for the Chautauqua County/Dunkirk Airport. The grant will be used to rehabilitate the airport runway.
"This is great news for ChautauquaCounty," said Schumer. "This federal funding will go a long way in providing necessary infrastructure improvements to keep the airport running smoothly for years to come.”
"These federal funds will improve the Chautauqua Country / DunkirkAirport, strengthening the economy in the region," said Gillibrand, a member of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee.“I will continue to work with Senator Schumer and the entire Congressional delegation to ensure that New York gets its fair share of federal dollars to help fix this economy.”
According to the DOT grant, these funds will provide federal funding to rehabilitate Runway 06/24 at Chautauqua County/Dunkirk Airport.
