SENATORS SCHUMER AND GILLIBRAND ANNOUNCE $550,000 IN ECONOMIC RECOVERY ACT FUNDING COMING TO WILLIAMSON-SODUS AIRPORT

U.S. Senators Charles E. Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand today announced a $555,000 U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) grant under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 for the Williamson-Sodus Airport.  The grant will be used to rehabilitate the runway.

"This is great news for Wayne County," said Schumer. "These federal dollars will go a long way in providing the necessary infrastructure improvements to keep the Williamson-Sodus Airport running smoothly for future years.”

“These funds will make great strides in rehabilitating Williamson-Sodus Airport and its service to Wayne County and greater Western New York,” said Gillibrand, a member of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee. “By improving key transportation infrastructure we will fix this economy and create jobs in the region.  I will continue to work with Senator Schumer and the entire Congressional delegation to ensure that New York gets its fair share of federal dollars to turn this economy around.”

According to the DOT grant, these funds will provide federal funding to rehabilitate Runway 10/28 at Williamson-Sodus Airport
