SENATORS SCHUMER AND GILLIBRAND ANNOUNCE OVER $820,000 FOR ELMIRA/CORNING REGIONAL AIRPORT


Funding Will Go to Airport for Improvements to Apron

U.S. Senators Charles E. Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand today announced that a $821,750 grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) funding has been awarded to the Elmira/Corning Regional Airport. The grant will be used to rehabilitate, mark, and light the apron at the airport.
 
“Investing in infrastructure projects at Ithaca Elmira/Corning Airport is critical to ensuring that the airport is safe and sustainable for years to come,” said Schumer. “These federal dollars will go a long way in providing the necessary improvements to keep the airport running smoothly for years to come.”
 
“This is a great investment for the Elmira/Corning Airport,” Senator Gillibrand said. “These federal dollars will support job creation and bring critical updates for the airport. I will continue working with Senator Schumer and the entire Congressional Delegation to make sure New York gets its fair share from the federal government.”
 
According to the DOT grant the funds will be used to rehabilitate the apron at the Elmira/ Corning Regional Airport.
