Grant Coming to Canaseraga Through USDA Rural
Development Program
Schumer: This Investment Will Expand Ambulance Service
and Improve Quality of Life for Canaseraga
Today, U.S. Senator Charles E. Schumer announced that the Village of Canaseraga has received a Community Facility Loan and Grant for a total of $84,000 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development program. This funding will be used to purchase two used ambulances and two new ambulance cots.
"Supporting New York’s rural communities with appropriate investments for emergency services is pivotal for those towns and the local economy,” said Schumer. “This USDA Rural Development investment for the Village of Canaseraga will improve ambulance service and quality of life in the community.”
The USDA Rural Development funding for the Village of Canaseraga is comprised of a $59,000 loan and $25,000 grant. Funding is part of the USDA Rural Development annual budget. USDA Rural Development’s mission is to increase economic opportunity and improve the quality of life for rural residents. USDA Rural Development fosters growth in homeownership, finances business development, and supports the creation of necessary community and technology infrastructure.
