The Library of Congress is located at 1st St and Independence, SE. Docent-led tours of the historic Thomas Jefferson Building provide insight into the building's symbolic art and architecture, and share the story of its history and collections. Public Tours are offered Monday through Saturday at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. (although there is no 3:30 p.m. tour on Saturdays). These free tours are open to individuals and small groups with no more than 10 participants. Groups of 10 to 60 can reserve private tours with advance notice by contacting the Visitor Services Office, or calling (202) 707-0919. It is also possible for our office to reserve LOC tours for groups of 15 or less.
