Every year, Chuck commits to traveling to all62 counties in New York to meet with constituents.
On February 17, 2020, standing at the Joseph E. Zaloga American Legion Post in Albany, and flanked by Capital Region Vietnam War veterans, some who are suffering from Agent Orange-linked conditions, U.S. Senator Charles E. Schumer called on the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), to stop playing games with the health and well-being of Upstate New York veterans. He called on both agencies to end the years-long struggle and add new conditions to the Agent Orange presumptive conditions list. Schumer announced a letter to OMB and the VA demanding a detailed explanation as to why OMB and the VA continue to block billions in health care coverage and benefits for thousands of Vietnam veterans.
