On May 27, 2008, Sen. Schumer hosted a town hall-style meeting in Cortland County to discuss the new Farm Bill. Sen. Schumer explained how the bill would provide relief for New York farmers by providing assistance to dairy and fruit farmers, both of which are prevalent in Cortland County. The bill also expands the Milk Income Loss Contract and increases funding for specialty crops.
