Every year, Chuck commits to traveling to all62 counties in New York to meet with constituents.
Standing at Rhinecliff Amtrak Station in Dutchess County, flanked by regional leaders and transportation stakeholders, U.S. Senator Charles E. Schumer today launched a major push to completely revamp the Rhinecliff Station in Rhinebeck, New York by making much-needed and long overdue infrastructure improvements, including federally-mandated Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) upgrades. Schumer explained that for more than fifteen years the Rhinecliff Station – one of New York’s busiest –missed out on opportunities for federal grants and critical infrastructure upgrades because of bureaucratic red tape. But according to reports and stakeholders, the property was returned to Amtrak in 2018, clearing the way for Amtrak to finally undertake federally mandated ADA-compliant infrastructure upgrades and commence other capital improvements.
