Every year, Chuck commits to traveling to all62 counties in New York to meet with constituents.
On December 30, 2009, Schumer was joined by Cheektowaga Town Supervisor Mary Holtz and local homeowners as he discussed the upcoming \"Cash for Caulkers\" program. The program would save homeowners up to 50% of the cost for energy saving installations and retro-fits, and homeowners would be eligible to receive up to $12,000 in rebates for weatherizing their homes. Schumer called on the administration to prioritize aid to communities with older housing stock, like Cheektowaga, and to send funds directly to localities rather than state or federal middlemen.
