\nOn November 28, 2011, Schumer announced his plan to speed up traffic at the Peace Bridge by helping more Western New Yorkers sign up for NEXUS cards. To make the NEXUS card more widely available, Schumer asked the American and Canadian border authorities to begin hosting sign-up sessions in malls, post offices, and local businesses so that getting a card is more convenient, like securing a passport. Schumer also asked that the Peace Bridge designate additional lanes as READY Lanes to further reduce traffic backups. Schumer was joined by Andrew Rudnick of the Buffalo Niagara Partnership, Arlene White from the Bi-National Economic and Tourism Alliance, Bryan Roth of the Canadian Consulate, and Matt Davison from the Peace Bridge Authority.
