\nOn May 5,2014 Schumer announced that Polo Ralph Lauren will begin manufacturing its \"Blue Label\" tailored clothing line of suits and sport jackets at Hickey Freeman in Rochester, a major win for the Rochester economy. The agreement, along with several other deals with major U.S. brands that Hickey Freeman is aiming to secure over the next few months, will boost production at the factory and could add up to 50 new jobs in the next three years. The agreement with Polo Ralph Lauren is part of the company's \"Made in America\" initiative, where Polo is seeking to bring more of its production back to the United States. Its \"Blue Label\" line has been manufactured in Italy, but will now be brought to Rochester. For over five years, Schumer has been deeply involved in keeping Hickey Freeman - and its over 400 jobs - alive and well in Rochester. Schumer, joined by workers from Hickey Freeman as well as Hickey Freeman's CEO Stephen Granovsky, explained that this announcement is an important step toward ensuring Hickey Freeman's successful future in Rochester. Rochester's Hickey Freeman will begin manufacturing Polo Ralph Lauren's \"Blue Label\" sports jackets and suits in June, with the first orders expected to be shipped in August.
