On September 25, 2012 Schumer was at the Albany County District Attorney's office to push legislation designed to help Capital Region law enforcement officials protect key witnesses who provide the police with information about crimes, help identify suspects, of testify during trials. The measure would increase criminal penalties on those seeking to intimidate witnesses. Schumer was joined by three District Attorneys from the Capital Region, and members of local law enforcement.
