Every year, Chuck commits to traveling to all62 counties in New York to meet with constituents.
On September 20, 2010, Schumer attended the opening of Yahoo!'s state of the art data center in Lockport. Schumer was instrumental in influencing Yahoo!'s decision to move to New York, personally lobbying their CEO, and also helped cut through the red tape, allowing the construction to go forward when Yahoo! and Verizon disagreed on the cost of the broadband connection to the data center. The new data center will bring over 100 good paying jobs to the area, and help to attract other high tech industries to Western New York.
