On November 20th 2017, U.S. Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer urged the Air Force to designate Stewart as their number one cleanup priority. Schumer, Maloney and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand announced last week that the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) included a key amendment to help the Air Force remediate PFOS and PFOA contamination, like that at the impacted Stewart Air National Guard Base. The bill is headed to President Donald J. Trump’s desk to be signed into law.
