\nOn November 22, 2013, Senator Schumer visited Wilklow Orchard's hard cider facility to discuss the CIDER Act. Schumer's plan to push legislation that modernizes the definition of hard cider will ensure all products can be labeled and taxed like hard cider, not wine. This will give producers the increased ability to compete, as this developing industry's further growth is currently hindered by federal tax rules. He was joined by Albert Wilklow of Wilklow Orchards and Tim Dressel of Dressel Farms. Both farmers are hard cider producers and entrepreneurs.
