On August 28, 2012 Schumer was at 69 Wescott Street in Jamestown. Schumer announced his support for legislation that would crack down on metal theft that has severely damaged homes throughout Chautauqua County. Senator Schumer was joined by Jamestown Mayor Samuel Teresi, Jamestown Director of Development Steve Centi, Jamestown Police Chief Harry Snellings, and Jamestown employees who identified the home as a victim of metal theft.
