\nOn August 8, 2013, Schumer visited Kingston to call on the Feds to phase out the DOT-111 tanker rail cars that carry oil through the Hudson Valley every day. Schumer says they are tragically flawed and can cause potential dangers, like the catastrophic loss of hazardous materials during derailments. The Senator says increased traffic on CSX freight train lines in the Hudson Valley must be met with increased safety. He was joined by Ulster County Executive Mike Hein.
