\nOn June 3, 2013, Schumer joined employees and company officials and toured the new Muller Quaker Dairy Facility, which was a joint-venture between PepsiCo, Inc. and the Theo Muller Group, followed by the formal grand opening of the facility. The Muller Quaker Dairy yogurt facility in Batavia is an over 350,000-square foot state-of-the-art facility on an 82-acre parcel of land in the Genesee Valley Agri-Business Park (GVAB), situated in one of the nation's most concentrated milk-producing and processing regions. Senator Schumer has long fought for federal infrastructure dollars to make the GVBA turn-key ready in order to attract new major employers like Muller Quaker. Schumer secured over $1.3 million in three separate grants last year to overcome a funding shortfall facing the Genesee Economic Development Center (GCEDC) and local municipalities, which needed to upgrade necessary infrastructure at the agri-business park to accommodate tenants like the Muller Quaker yogurt facility. The plant will employ approximately 180 new workers.
