Every year, Chuck commits to traveling to all62 counties in New York to meet with constituents.
On July 23, 2010, Schumer visited the Crime Victims Assistance Center Inc. in Binghamton, Broome County. Schumer revealed that current laws restricting sex offenders' access to children do not restrict pedophiles from working with children in jobs which are not funded by the government such as coaches, carnival ride operators and dance and music teachers. Schumer's legislation will close this dangerous loophole. Schumer was joined by Executive Director of the Crime Victims Assistance Center Raini Baudendistel, Broome County Executive Barbara Fiala and Broome County District Attorney Gerald Mollen.
