Whether new Westchester homeowners, longtime owners, or those looking to buy right now, Schumer knows that locals are in tax jeopardy as newly-confirmed U.S. Treasury Secretary Mnuchin has suggested threats to mortgage, state and local property tax deductions. Schumer said that the reductions to—or the removing of these vital tax deductions—would hit Westchester particularly hard, given its ranking as the highest property taxed county in the nation and local cost of living.
