On January 16, 2013, Schumer visited Glenwood Power Plant to support the Federal Historic Tax Credit and the New Markets Tax Credits which will help bridge the gap for developers and serve as important pieces of the puzzle in kick-starting exciting redevelopment while at the same time protecting our storied past. The Glenwood Power Plant is a project which will turn the devestated building into a large commercial buildings with multipurpose uses while creating over 1,000 permanent jobs. Schumer was joined by developer Lela Gorren, Mike Oates of Hudson Valley Economic Development along with other local officials.
