On September 14, 2009 Schumer visited Cheektowaga to discuss Debit Card fees at the Dick-Urban Plaza. Schumer was joined by Cheektowaga Supervisor Mary Holtz, other Cheektowaga officials, and constituents who have encountered problems with debit card fees, to discuss solutions to a problem that is affecting Western New Yorkers and their families each and every day. Schumer proposed a set of measures that will help to curb the practice of debit card fees, and allow consumers to have more choice and transparency with their banks.
