On August 11, 2014, Schumer visited the Family and Children's Association Hicksville Counseling and Resource Center to introduce legislation to ban Palcohol and advocate for its ban on Long Island and national liquor retailer shelves. He criticized the FDA for not investigating the risks of Palcohol before allowing it to reach shelves. Schumer was joined by 21 year old James Healion, a recovering alcoholic pictured with Schumer above.
