Every year, Chuck commits to traveling to all62 counties in New York to meet with constituents.
On June 18, 2010, Schumer visited Lake Welch State Beach in Stony Point to discuss an FDA study about retinyl palmitate, an additive in sunscreen that might cause cancer. Senator Schumer was joined by Chuck Bell of the Consumers Union and Dr. Michale Rader, the Medical Director of Nyack Hospital, as he pressed the FDA to speed up the release of a study about the effects of this chemical. The study was completed in July 2009, but the FDA has been slow to release the data since then. For further information on Chuck Schumer please visit: www.schumer.senate.gov
