Every year, Chuck commits to traveling to all62 counties in New York to meet with constituents.
On February 1, 2010, Schumer met with unemployed workers and others to discuss his new bipartisan \"Hire Now Tax Cut.\" The legislation offers a tax cut to businesses that hire a worker who has been unemployed at least 60 days. By hiring, the business will avoid paying Social Security taxes on that worker for 2010, saving thousands of dollars on each hired worker. Schumer was joined by several unemployed workers, and local business and economic development leaders, as well as Lancaster Town Supervisor Robert Giza, and President of Sealing Devices Terry Galanis Jr. For further information on Chuck Schumer please visit: www.schumer.senate.gov
