Schumer announced that FEMA has agreed to his request to abandon their old flood mapping policy that ignored existing levees and other mitigation structures. Schumer called upon FEMA to clarify the criterion by which they will evaluate levees and how they will be incorporated into new and existing flood maps. Schumer was joined by Congressman Hinchey, Broome County Executive Patrick Brennan and other elected officials in the area.</p>"}}
