Every year, Chuck commits to traveling to all62 counties in New York to meet with constituents.
U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer stood at Carillon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center to discuss the effects of medicaid cuts on Long Islanders, and Americans as a whole. At the nursing home, the senator met with residents who voiced their concerns and fears of losing housing. Senator Schumer stressed the idea with the potential $880 Billion in Medicaid cuts, facilities like Carillon would have to shut down, not just reduce staff. The senator called for Republican congressmen to demand that the administration halt the cuts to protect nursing homes all over the nation and other health care industries.Â
