Federal Funding Included in FY05 Omnibus Appropriations bill
Airport Improvement Grant Will Rehabilitate Runways at Plattsburgh International Airport

US Senators Charles E. Schumer and Hillary Rodham Clinton today announced that Plattsburgh International Airport has been awarded over $1.6 Million in federal funds for the airport to continue Phase II rehabilitation work on its runway. The funds are listed in the Transportation, Treasury, and Independent Agencies Appropriations section of the Fiscal Year 2005 Omnibus Appropriations bill.

This is great news for the entire North Country," said Schumer. "The Plattsburgh International Airport welcomes travelers to New York each year, and these improvements are important for strengthening the local economy. I will continue to fight for federal funds to help the airport remain a thriving center of activity and a hub for economic growth in the region."

This is great news. Plattsburgh International Airport is an integral part of the local economy and it is important that we do everything we can to support it," Senator Clinton said. "Any opportunity we have to improve access to the airport is critical, because more flights and better service simply means more jobs and more opportunities for the region.
