Schumer, Clinton Announce Over $900,000 For Massena International Airport-Richards Field

Federal Money Will Be Used to Remove Obstructions


U.S. Senators Charles E. Schumer and Hillary Rodham Clinton today announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has awarded $901,000 in Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) funds to the Massena International AirportRichards Field.   Federal funds will be used to remove obstructions.

 

"This is great news for St Lawrence County," said Schumer. "The Massena International AirportRichards Field is an important general aviation facility in this region.   It is critical that we continue to provide the funds necessary to keep the airport safe and efficient.   With so many local aviators, tourists and businesspeople using the airport as a base of operation, it remains a key component of economic growth in the region."

 

"This is more great news for St. Lawrence County," said Senator Clinton.  "This funding will allow for much needed safety improvements at the Massena International AirportRichards Field so it can continue bringing travelers and commerce to the region.  I will do all that I can to ensure that the airport continues to receive the resources it needs."

 

Federal funds will be used to remove obstructions. This project will better position the airport to serve the surrounding business community more effectively, efficiently and safely.
