SCHUMER STATEMENT ON THE INTERNATIONAL JOINT COMMISSION ADDING BILL REILICH TO ITS CONTROL BOARD

U.S. Senator Charles E. Schumer today released the following statement after the International Joint Commission (IJC) announced it would be heeding his request and adding Town of Greece Supervisor, Bill Reilich, to its Control Board:

“I am pleased to see that the IJC made the positive step of adding a New York candidate I’ve long supported to the Control Board, Greece Town Supervisor Bill Reilich. But it should now reverse its recent wrongheaded decision to reduce Lake Ontario Outflows, as lake levels are still above 247 feet.  I’ve been pleased to work with Supervisor Reilich to address Lake Ontario flood recovery, including our push for the Army Corps’ Coastal Resiliency study, and know he will bring an important shoreline representation to the IJC,” said Senator Schumer.
